A New Year: Remembering God's Grace and Starting Afresh
The year 2025 has begun! As we step into this new chapter, what kind of heart are you carrying into the year? In the time God has given us, we are called to embrace three key attitudes: gratitude, hope, and renewal.
First, let us reflect on the past year with a heart of gratitude. There were moments of joy that lifted our spirits, but also challenges that brought us to our knees. Through it all, God was with us. As the psalmist declares, “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:2-5). Let us cherish the memories of 2024 and give thanks for God's guidance, provision, and faithfulness through every season.
Now, as we enter the new year, it is time to set our hearts on hope. God is the One who renews us daily, pouring out fresh mercies every morning. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are reminded:
“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Instead of dwelling on past failures or weaknesses, let us embrace the courage to start anew in Christ.
What plans or prayer requests do you have for 2025? Proverbs 3:5-6 offers us this wisdom:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
While setting goals is important, entrusting them to God and seeking His guidance ensures that our steps will be aligned with His perfect will.
Lastly, may this year not only be about personal achievements but also about glorifying God through our lives. Let us share the grace we’ve received, extend His love to those around us, and take even small steps to make a big difference for His kingdom.
May 2025 be a year filled with God’s abundant grace, and may His hand guide every moment of your journey. As Lamentations 3:23 declares,
“They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Let us praise the Lord who grants us a fresh start and walk this year in faith and hope.
